Scale of the market

Before considering how do you sell your works in Japan, today I write about scale of the Japanese wind band market.

But to post at a later date, Japanese wind band world is not too much to say that revolves around the "All Japan Band Competition" that is competition of amateur bands. In order to compete in the All Japan Band Competition, it is necessary to join the All Japan Band Association. The number of bands that are subscribed to the All Japan Band Association is following.(date of November 2014, due to the announcement of All Japan Band Association)

Elementary school Band: 1,145
Junior high school Band: 7,214
High school Band: 3,823
University Band: 313
Company Band: 80
Community Band: 1,666
Total: 14,241

Active duty wind band population in Japan is said to be more than 1 million. Although it becomes average to about 70 people of calculation per one band, can not grasp the exact number because some bands that are not a member of the All Japan Band Association. There is a difference between the number of members, a variety from a few people of the band until the band that more than 100 people. But also to post at a later date too, up to elementary school - high school decrease in the number of team members due to the declining birth rate is seen. To play the music of a large instrumentation is becoming more difficult every year.
